Max Weissman is a National Certified Counselor specializing in work with young-people. Max is honored to work with individuals, families, schools, and a variety of organizations.
He has spent his career focused on working in the field of mental health: first as a Wilderness Counselor, then at schools/universities, and currently in private-practice. Over the course of his career he has worked with thousands of young-adults as a counselor, consultant and coordinatior of services. Max is now delighted & honored to helping people create brighter futures.
Max's approach to counseling is Client-Centered (Rogerian), believing the therapeutic relationship & partnership is of utmost importance. Max provides a therapeutic environment that is conformable & non-judgmental, which is achieved through: Congruence, Empathetic Understanding, and Unconditional Positive Regard (UPR).
Max grew up in the New York and spent time in Oregon and internationally, before settling in Asheville. He spends his time hiking, playing basketball, and being outdoors with his wife, son, and young daughter.

Certified as a Certified Trauma Specialist (C.T.S.) through The National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children
