​How do I know if Max Weissman is the right fit?​
​Free 20-minute consultations are offered for new clients to help you decide if Max Weissman is the right fit for your needs.

The truth is every single person, family and organization is completely unique.  Initially, I like to meet with every potential client for a FREE consultation to determine if this process will work for your current needs.   It should be noted that I do not take on every client who comes in to my office for a consultation.  This being said, I pride myself on being able to help everyone who comes in for a consultation, even if it is simply pointing you in another direction.  By working in this field for over the past 20 years, I have developed a strong network of professionals, and I can help you create a game-plan, be it with me or with another qualified professional, school or agency.
 


What type of consulting does Max do?
Most of Max's consultation work is related to program development within the field of mental-health.  Max has worked as a consultant for a variety of schools and organizations to create unique programing that meets students where they are and takes them to where they need to go.  For some examples of clients, the ABC's of Max's consultation work include:  Asheville City, Buncombe County Schools, and the Carolina Day School.



How long are the counseling sessions?
Individual counseling sessions are typically 50 minutes in length. If you would like  longer sessions, we can create a schedule based on a mutual agreement prior to beginning treatment.



Does Max do any parenting-coordination?
As a court-approved Parenting Coordinator (PC), Max skilled at working within complicated family systems to provide the best level care for children, adolescents, and parents.  Parenting can be extremely challenging, Max is here to help.



Where are you located?
​Max's office is located in Biltmore Village, in the Biltmore Crossing Building : 30 Hendersonville Rd, Asheville, NC 28803.  See "Contact Us" page for Map.  Max also meets with clients in various locations virtually/online (telehealth).


 Are you licensed?
Yes, I am fully licensed Nationally (NCC) by the National Board of Counselors, and in the State of North Carolina as Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor- Supervisor (LCMHC-S). In addition to these licenses, Max is certified as a licensed school counselors in the state of North Carolina (via the DPI) and is also a Certified Trauma School Specialist by The National Institute of Trauma and Loss in Children (TLC).


​Does insurance cover the cost of counseling?
Max Weissman is in-network with Blue Cross-Blue Shield & Aetna.  If you wish to seek reimbursement for services from another health insurance company, Max will be happy to complete any necessary forms (forms must be provided by you).  Educational services vary in cost depending on your needs.  Max accepts cash, check, or credit-card  (for the co-pay or total session) either in advance or at the time of the session- I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy.
